Baltimore City Community College had a program for expanding and renovating its Main Building, but wanted verification that the program was truly viable for the variety of functions it housed: administration, dining, retail, theater, health, and academics. The college asked B&D to work with its architectural team to do this verification, and we proceeded with user group interviews and exhaustive examinations of each program element. Our study provided a revised program document that had a complete record of all revisions in accordance with Maryland State guideline. The program began in 2001 and was completed in 2013. It was a $47.5 million effort and included 210,000 SF of renovations and 42,000 SF of new construction.
