Athletic Field House Assessment

In 2005 Dartmouth College was considering the construction of a new athletic facility adjacent to its football stadium and B&D was added to the planning team in light of our contributions to its Athletics Master Plan in 1999.  Our scope of work included three specific tasks:  a comprehensive assessment of the school’s strength and conditioning facilities, a study to determine how to adopt the most advantageous baseball field configuration while adhering to the Master Plan, and a bleacher memo that enabled the college to obtain specific information about movable stands.  As a result of our work and the work of Centerbrook Architects, the $14 million Floren Varsity House opened in November 2007, earning LEED Silver certification that same year.  The 41,000 SF facility includes a varsity strength training center, a technology-equipped classroom, locker and equipment facilities, team offices, and meeting rooms.
