PROJECT NEWS

Residence halls, suites and townhomes to offer students more living options

Texas Christian University (Forth Worth, Tex.) recently celebrated a topping out ceremony for four new residence halls, marking a major milestone in the university’s progress towards their long-term goal of expanding enrollment and improving retention. The construction tradition marks the placement of a building’s final structural element and its arrival at full height, an important milestone in the school’s ambitious student housing expansion.

Once complete, the multiphase development project will add nearly 2,500 beds across four distinct residential communities. Rather than repeat a single housing model across campus, TCU opted to diversify its residential portfolio with the four communities representing traditional first-year residence halls, sophomore-style suites and upperclassmen townhomes. The strategy is intended to meet anticipated demand over the next decade.

“Students’ housing needs evolve as they grow through their undergraduate experience,” said Paige Siegel, vice president at Brailsford & Dunlavey. “By providing a range of housing options, TCU is ensuring that their housing portfolio can continue supporting enrollment, retention, and student success as expectations change.”

The residence halls are slated to open for the Fall 2027 semester. Brailsford & Dunlavey is proudly serving as development advisors on the project.

"The leadership and information from B&D, and the clarity with which they provide it, brings added credibility to the process and ensures that a range of university stakeholders, including senior leadership and our board, are fully informed for – and confident in – their required decision making.”
